I've kind of been getting the drift from the elder anime fans (I'm talking the ones who are now in their 20s and grew up watching Sailor Moon, Akira, Cowboy Bepop, etc.) that somehow the newer anime fans are less-acceptable? Okay, let me make this a bit more clear/less offensive. I've seen a lot of rants and forums where the fans in their late twenties are talking down to the new fans. Mostly because of the Naruto and Bleach issue. But just because many new fans like Bleach and Naruto doesn't mean they should be discouraged by everyone. I mean, Bleach is what got me into anime in the first place! Of course, now I think Bleach is pretty bad, but that's kind of away from the point.
Basically, I'm just wondering why anime fans shun the younger generation coming into the anime fandom. I do realize there are people that are absolutely NOT like this. But for those who are (or know someone who is), can you tell me why? O.o
Honestly mean no offense by this topic. Just trying to get information... ^^;

I honestly don't know.
I'm guessing it's because the younger generation tends to be one track minded or overly protected of ONE anime. That probably makes the older generation, who have seen many more animes and have their favorites, get angry/talk down to the younger generation because sometimes it can be really annoying.
I suppose I'm trying to say that young teens, 10 - 15, don't exactly know how to keep their mouths shut and be open to more ideas and animes. :/

Yeah, most of the teenagers like Naruto and Bleach, which the older people don't particulary enjoy. So that might be a big put off right there. Though you and I would kind of be in that category so it's hard for us to figure out why with 100% accuracy. I understand where the older guys are coming from, but I was watching a YouTube video where a guy basically yelled at the younger fans for not "respecting the classics". For me, I like most of the classic anime, but there's some I'm just not interested in, so does that mean I'm immature and a bad fan?

Classics? Like what?
I'm curious what would be considered a "classic." Is that One Piece and DragonBall Z? If so, then why can't Naruto and Bleach be included in that catagory? They are all animes that go on forever and ever. Does that make them a classic?
Sorry for all the questions! I'm just curious, ya know? I'm a firm believer that if you want the Anime Era to go on for generations to generations, you should welcome the new anime fans. Despite how...well...annoying they can be. I know, because I was once like that. Where ALL I saw was Bleach. Now I've change and have had my fair share of animes and became a dedicated anime fan. That's how you keep the Anime Era living. By yelling at the new anime fans, that will make them not like anime and people will not dub anime and then bad stuff will happen. D:
So...ya...LOL

LOL No. The classics like Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, and a bunch of others I'm too lazy to think of ATM.
That's what I'm thinking. New people need time to watch different anime. Once they do though, they realize their own tastes and don't stick with the popular anime that everyone always goes for. People can't help being new and inexperianced! XD
