The Pet Thread

Hey guys just wanted to make a thread here and I figured that most people have had some kind of pet in their time so here's the pet thread where we discuss pets!

So what pets have you had? What pets would you like to have? If you don't like pets, why not?

Myself I've had... now let me get this right...

5 cats
3 dogs
3 rats
2 rabbits
1 guinea pig
1 hamster
and quite a few fish.

What have you guys had?

I've had a dog, a bunch of hamsters, 2 birds, 3 turtles that hated me , ant farm and several fishes.
I'm getting my house ready to welcome a cockatiel to be named Pikachu
My mom doesn't like pets and it's been hard to have any... My dog lived with my dad, the turtles were given to the government (apparently, they were illegal), she gave my first hamster to someone else and convinced me to keep my second "batch" outside - and they were eaten by a cat
Regarding cats, I've always tried to keep them secretly, but always got found out
Today, many years later, I convinced her to let me own a cockatiel who'll live in my room, protected from cats

I've had a hermit crab that pissed me off when I was sleeping, he wasn't around long, I've had 2 cats, one of which is currently still alive named Kira, Banshee has passed away. And my dad and his gf have 3 cats, Techno, who is the mother of Meiyu and Yuri who are soon to be 5 months old and I love them both. Techno gets on my nerves sometimes though.

A little dog (chihuahua/terrior mix) named Sam
A Venus Fly Trap named Ngern (who is not eating anything ATM because he's hibernating for winter. LOL)
A pink and white poinsetta named Piko

Shush! Plants can be pets! XD

I also have a bunch of rabbits my dad uses for work, so I guess you caouldn't call them pets, but I figured I'd include them. LOL

As far as pets I've HAD, there are too many to count. I'd say the weirdest pet I've had was a bunch of rats. XD

I currently have 4 cats and 2 dogs....and in the past my family went through several fish XD

Lol if we're counting plants too then I briefly had an orchid on my desk last year, but it died within a few months 'cause I suck at taking care of flowers (ironic for somebody who always chooses the grass starter in the Pokemon games).

Pets I have
1 gold fish
1 unknown tropical fish o.o
and one stray cat. She loves me and I named her Cookie (Full name, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. She's a calico)

I tend to do well with pets that don't move or are normally not considered pets. Like plants or...well plants. XD People think I'm weird when I ask how my plants are/talk to them. LOL

Me: Oi, wakey, wakey, Ngern. *pokes one of the traps*
Random Person: He's asleep?
Me: Yush! It's winter, so he takes a nap~
Random Person: O.o But he's a plant.
Me: *glare* Plants don't deny that we sleep, so why be judgemental!

Yeah, I'm odd. But its nice other people have pet plants. :D

I love animals! Alright here's the list:

1 brief dog (couldn't afford to keep this stray golden retriever at the time!)
3 different Hermit crabs with really uncreative names (Sheldon, Shelldy and Kermit)
3 beta fish (Elfie, Finster, and finally Max)
Several Goldfish and one orange and white one I named Comet.
2 guinea pigs who tragically were lost to wet tail (Spike and Callie) and one who survived wet-tail lived for a long time and died of unknown and downright traumatic circumstance right before we went to school that day... named Quark.
1 awesome hamster named Zerlocke who was my first personal pet.
6 family cats through my lifetime (4 of which I grew up with, 2 acquired before I moved out)
3 current cats of my own (Phobos, Zam! and Weiss)
2 ferrets (I miss you Lenore T_T )

and an empty ferret cage awaiting new ferrets, possibly 3!

I also have a spider plant that isn't looking too healthy, and my Venus fly trap died for no reason too!

7 rats (wait...9? Not sure)
6 wild bunnies
4 hermit crabs
2 fish
etc

Yea, I've had a lot. Currently I have 6 rabbit(they work but I still count them as pets) and a dog. lol

Aw, did you overcare for it? :O That's the most commong thing that happens to them. They're the opposite of most plants. LOL If you give them fertilizer, they die. If you don't give them a ton of water(to the point where their soil is dripping wet), they die. If you give them a lot of sun, they die. o.o

Oh, and if you close too many of their traps(some people poke their fingers into the traps for fun) then they die too. o.o

Other than that, they're easy to care for. XDDDD Sorry your died. D:
