So true. But I guess that's a good thing, otherwise you end up with another Sonic fandom where half of the fans love it and half the "fans" hate it Ha! More than once I wish there was a "like" button on the forums XD Good point tho, some times it's a good thing when not many people know about a game :)

OMG LOL Facebook references are awesome. Even though I personally don't have an account.
Ya! And it's makes the video game seem more special to you. You don't just like it because other people like it. It's like me and the anime/manga Saiyuki. It's as rare as Hell, but I still adore it because I personally think it is so funny. And when I do find something related to Saiyuki(ie: cosplayers, merchandise) I am the happiest girl in the world! XD
Kirby is also like that. No one has any idea what I am talking about when I mention it, but when I do find it, it's the best day of my life! XD So in a way, enjoying a video game that is not very popular can have good benefit too.

...okay I need to come in here and ask for a definition of 'under-rated' because so far it seems very confusing to me. Do you mean no one plays it? Do you mean people know of it but dismiss it? Because at the moment we need clarification I think. good discussion but can we get some definition going please?

Because at the moment we need clarification I think. good discussion but can we get some definition going please? Um.....I think my definition of underrated started out as "obscure (or at least somewhat obscure) or unpopular games that the critics and/or general gaming public don't seem to appreciate", but strayed into something more vague when we were running out of the more hardcore examples XD i.e. under that definition Meteos (and especially Majora's Mask) is really stretching it, I admit. I guess that was just me desperately trying to keep the topic discussion going even if those can only loosely be called "underrated" (and even then only within a certain context). Meteos probably fits better under a topic like "nostalgic and highly acclaimed games that none of my friends ever heard of for some reason". When I was thinking about it some more, I realized the word "underrated" to me implies that people must know or at least heard about the game in order to be dissing it, because they may be doing so based on a first impression or on what other people have said about it.

Okie! I'd also like to add that "under-rated" can mean different things to different people, so we're discussing all of the definitions we can here. :3

Its highly unlikely anyone ever heard of this one, its a rather old Playstation 2 game, that I onyl played once or twice, but i highly enjoyed it.
Farenheit 451 (http://www.covershut.com/covers/Fahrenheit-Pal-Front-Cover-10282.jpg)
The whole game play amazed me! Depending on what choices you made in the begining changed the whole course of the game, if Im correct in thinking there is about 3 or 4 different types of ending possible within the games. Its all about choosing what you what to do and such. Plus there is also several chances for rather creepy PS2 ingame sex, WHICH you have to perform with Square, Circle, Triangle or X, which kinda freaked me out. But otherwise, I highly enjoyed this game, so much so that I have found myself contimplating buying a PS2 just so I can replay it, well that and Kingdom Hearts xD That is a game I think its totaly underrated!

Well, I'm under the age of 18, so I can't wuite imagine what that "in-game-sex" is like, nor do i really want to. LOL BUT the rest sounds awesome. I've never heard of this game either, so cudos for finding it for yourself~
Oh, and this reminds me of another game I think is under-rated. Anyone ever hear of Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire? It's doesn't have all the fancy graphics, but the story is interesting and you get to fight with a sword of FIRE. 8D The platform I played it on was the Wii too, so the controls were pretty simple. In addition, I wanna marry whoever came up with all the unique designs for the dragons and locations. Again, graphics aren't that great, but the designs were unique and interesting. :3 I highly recommend it to anyone~

Wait...is this based on the book by Ray Bradbury? O_O Lol I don't remember any sex period in that novel XD Regardless, the choose-your-own adventure kind of style of what this sounds like and Heavy Rain, etc. have been piquing my curiosity as of late :) Oh, and this reminds me of another game I think is under-rated. That sounds pretty badass :3 Yeah! It was about a group of dragons who came to the human world. One dragon decided to help everyone, however the rest were out to rule over the humans. And one day the "evil" dragons killed off the one good one and sealed his soul in a sword. They then proceeded to break and then scatter the peices of said sword around the world. Each of their most loyal servants guarded these peices. So the idea of the game was to collect the soul parts into the Dragon Blade so you could kill off all the evil dragons that ruled over man. It's pretty damn awesome! LOL
